My first connection with China

Doing the chicken dance in the cold

November 13, 2009 · 2 Comments

I’ve been told that it’s started snowing back home. I don’t think I’ll see any snow this year (all though it’s a possibility), but I can promise you it’s cold here! It’s almost as cold inside as outside, and today it’s 6 degrees Celsius outside.. Might be you think it’s not that cold, but it becomes something completly different as soon as it’s not warm anymore when you step inside. To put it this way; we really appreciate the hot water bottles we bought last week. Note to oneself though; Don’t fall asleep with a newly filled hot water bottle lying against any part of your body. You will get a burn! I have two..

Today we’re traveling to Nanjing, spending the entire weekend there. Yes, it’s only within an hour away from Lishui, but we’ve been invited to participate in the regional Amity teachers conferance, so this weekend we’re staying in a hotel. During the coming week Monica (one of our teachers at Hald) is coming to visit us, and is taking us to Shanghai during the weekend, so we’re having two weekends in hotels in a row. Sweet luxury..! We’re looking forward to experiencing even more new things, and I’m not neccessarily talking about the hotel part of it.

No, I’m too cold to sit here any longer. We’ve taught the other teachers in our office the chicken dance, so I’m going to dance a little to warm up before I’m off for my only class today..!

Last, but not least, there’s one thing I want to do before traveling!
Happy birthday, sis! Hope you’ll have a great day, and that you like the gift I left you! Love you!

Tasha!

Glad to read you’re doing fine! If it helps any, it’s pretty cold and wet here up north as well. I’ve danced the chicken dance myself! I think you’re lucky if you don’t have any snow, though. Snow has its own way to make things more difficult!
    God bless!
