Gaochun
In late October we were taken to visit Gaochun, a small place about the same size as Lishui. We saw Gaochun Old Street, which could resemble what most people think of when they hear “China”, but we also visited one of our friend’s home.
Gaochun is, as Lishui, a county of Nanjing.

This is the sight that first meets you when you enter Gaochun Old Street. The street is more than 1000 years old, and is the oldest part of Nanjing.

The old street is one of the most visited tourist attractions visited in Nanjing.

On the corners of all the houses in the old street there's carved out people, like this one, dragons etc.

Old fashioned street lamp.

The entrance to a (rich) family's home.

Traditional Lanterns hanging from the roof.

Idyllic inner garden. It was first when I saw this "through the camera" that I realized that I actually was in China!

A newly wed couple's bed would in ancient China be decorated like this.

People still live in this area, all though it's mainly considered a tourist attraction.

Outside Gaochun, the farmers spend most their days on the fields.

A family takes a five minute rest while their neighbour burns off the old left overs.

After visiting Gaochun Old Street we visited a friend's home, and were served crab. Crab fields are one of the main incomes in this area of Jiangsu.
Someone needs to see this!
